I think we're about to see the rise of the creative generalist especially in this economy and honestly I think this is already happening. For years we were told to pick one thing get really good at it and climb the ladder. But I think AI is changing that. Researchers even have a name for this shift now. The squiggly careers. Execution is becoming more accessible. A designer can now write, a writer can now create visuals and a marketer can now automate work flows and the founder can now build things that you use to require an entire team. So the bottle neck isn't just anymore. It's known how all the pieces fit together. Some of the most valuable people I know right now aren't necessarily the deepest specialists. They're people who understand multiple disciplines and that's becoming incredibly valuable. So if you've ever felt too multi passionate to pick one thing, that might actually be your biggest advantage right now. So there's actually a simple way to think about this. Most of us were actually thought to be eye shape. One deep skill and that's it. The next level is key shape. So you have one deep skill plus a broad understanding of the s around it. But the people that are winning right now, they're becoming pi-shaped. So two deep skills plus broad range across everything else. So to do this, you keep your core skill, the thing that you're known for, and then add a second one that you can go deep in. And you can build broad literacy and everything that actually touches your work, whether that strategy, AI or communication. So you go from I to T to pi. And that's how we say valuable while everything changes. I don't think that specialists are going away, but the creator who stand out won't be the ones that are just stuck in their corner. They'll be the ones who can see the whole picture connect the dots and still bring something only that they can.
