When was the last time you saw a Mongolian restaurant in Melbourne? Because I couldn't think of any. MGL Mongolian Restaurant just opened in Blackburn. The interior decor is interesting and the menu is small, means I'm trying everything. If you order one thing here, it has to be the Mongolian meat pie. Think of a giant pan-fried dumpling, crispy outside, juicy inside. Pair it with their chili oil and vinegar, and the lamb dumpling soup is so nourishing with homemade broth, generous lamb slices. Very lammy and lamb dumplings with a chewy skin is actually very good. That's not doughy at all. You can also get the dumplings steamed. Both are really good. The beef rice bowl comes with hearty stewed beef, mashed potatoes and pickles is super comforting. Exactly what you want in this. The most interesting dish is the Mongolian milk tea, served with fried dough. They showed us how to eat it. I thought this was a fried donut, but it was bready and soft? I haven't been to Mongolia, can someone tell me if this is legit? I would skip unless you're curious. The owner also kept raving about the Mongolian milk skin that was sold out. And I trust her because their dumpling skin was bomb. Spending just around $30, you'll be
