Selling is EXTREMELY EASY if you understand this one concept. So, I'm the CEO of an investment research firm. We grew from zero to a billion and a half dollars in assets under management in two years. I was the president of an automotive suspension manufacturer. We grew 3x on the top line, 4x on the bottom line in four years. I was a managing director in banking. I used to run branch banking for the Los Angeles metropolitan market. We were number one in the entire company. I used to sell second mortgages. I used to make phone calls to people who filled out pop-ups on lowermybills.com, 15 to 20 calls a day, to sell people loans, okay? As a salesperson, I would say a salesperson at heart, that's where I learned to make money. This is the only thing that actually matters, and it's needs-based selling. I never had to sell anything, and I still don't have to sell anything. Curiosity is the doorway to closing deals. Ask questions to uncover needs. As you uncover those needs, when you go to sell, you're not selling anything, right? You're going to recap those needs. I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions, and then after I get the answers, I'm going to go, okay, hey Joe, you said this, and you said this, and you said this are the things that you need. And then I'm going to sell you something or present something to you that addresses those needs. If you tell me all of your needs and the thing I have doesn't address any of them, I'm not going to try and shove that down your throat to sell you that. I am going to give you things that are helpful. And in that sense, I don't have to sell anything. It's kind of like, think of selling like you you have a, I don't know, you have a water gun, okay? And you need to fill it up with water or else you're going to go to, you know, shoot and you're going to be having an empty gun. So you're going to fill that with water with every question that you ask. You're uncovering a different need that fills that gun up. So by the time you get ready to fire that thing, it's a super soaker. It's easy, it's light work. Selling is simply curiosity, uncovering needs, and then presenting solutions to those needs. You do that, you'll be the best salesperson in any company you're in.
