Here's my current net worth as a high-earning 37-year-old who prioritizes investing, saving, and investing. Living in Houston, Texas. Before we get into it, you calculate your net worth by adding up all of your assets and subtracting all of your liabilities. If you're new here, hi, I'm Morgan, and I do a net worth update every single month to show you what's possible when you start earning more money and start taking your financial future seriously. As always, starting with the cash accounts. I currently have $45,204 in cash. This is a combination of short-term savings goals and my emergency fund that I keep in a high-yield savings account. This amount might feel too small for some, not enough for others, and everyone's different, and that's okay. Now let's move to my investment accounts. I have been contributing to a 401k for the last 15 years, maxing it out for the last 8 years, and I have always had an employer match between 5 and 7%. The total balance this month in my 401k is $604,691. I'm embarrassed to admit that I did not take my Roth IRA very seriously when I was younger, so I am working on building up this balance. It was $40,149. In my taxable brokerages, I have $140,211. So I'm lucky and I have an employer-funded contribution plan, which has a balance of $104,797. At my HSA is $20,380. Do you have a small percentage of my portfolio in speculative investments in crypto, and I have $17,406 split between Ethereum and Bitcoin. The total value of my two real estate properties is at $909,100. And I know this is controversial, but I'm including the value of my car, and it's estimated at $21,000. Liabilities, I don't have any debt besides my mortgages, on which I have a balance of $646,509. This is my current credit card balance that I pay off every single month in full. This comes out to a total net worth of $1,252,588.
