The first thing Rowan said to me when I finished shaving her head was, I feel so free. And when she said that, I knew we definitely didn't make a mistake. Making a change this big on someone so young was definitely stressful for everyone involved. Kids will be so sure that they want something one minute and then completely change their mind the next. And shaving your head isn't something you can undo right away. The second I made that first cut, I knew that this was something that Rowan really, really wanted. She's been coming to see me for a while now, and she kept giving herself these little at home haircuts. And her mom would text me and be like, Oh my gosh, Rowan cut her hair again. So I think she maybe just really wanted short hair. This ended up being an incredible decision for her hair health as well. She had so, so much damage. She completely fried her hair with the sun and the chlorine, and this was just such a good fresh start for her. And now they know what to do, what products to use, and how often she needs haircuts and everything else so that her new hair can thrive. I also do not do clipper cuts. I actually had to borrow my friend's clippers for these. I do not own any. So please, if you're a barber watching this video, please do not judge me. I do not know what I'm doing with these. Anyways, Rowan was in heaven when I was scrubbing her head. She actually looked so freaking happy. It was so cute. And she told me how happy she is that she doesn't have to sit for her mom to detangle her hair for a while. I've never really styled a buzz cut before, so I just threw a little bit of foam in her hair and dried everything. And as you can see from right here, she was so excited about this. It was actually so cute. I love how much she loves her new hair, and I'm just so excited for her.
