I don't think my client let me

I don't think my client let me cut enough of her hair off to consider this an actual curly cut appointment. But we did spend hours on her hair still. So let's talk about it. First of all, my client was actually the sweetest person. I could tell she was really nervous for this appointment and she started off by apologizing because she didn't wanna cut all of her damage off. Something I always tell my first time clients is that trust takes time, and if you're not ready to cut all of your damage off, then that is okay. Obviously, it depends on the extent of the damage and sometimes there really is no choice and at that point it's a whole other conversation. But my client's hair was still manageable even though she had a lot of dead ends. So yes, they'll need to come off eventually, but we were still able to do a service today without her leaving upset and feeling too short. We did agree that maybe next time we'll cut more off now that we've gone over what the damage looks like and how much there is. And sometimes it just takes clients seeing their hair a little bit healthier to wanna just full send it and actually do a substantial cut. For today, we really focused on stripping out layers and layers of build up. The product she was using were all terrible. Like she was listing out what she uses and there was not One product on that list that I was happy about. I hope that doesn't sound harsh, but truly, she was using the worst products possible. But she did tell me that that's one of the reasons she came in, because she knew her products were damaging her hair. Everything she listed had ingredients that don't dissolve in water. Super heavy oils and lots of drying alcohol. So we rebuilt her a new routine, and I'm so excited to see her progress with the new products.
