My client had just washed her hair right before coming to her appointment. but after I brush just one section of her hair. this is what my brush was looking like. You can see all of the white flakes and the film stuck to it. There was a layer of what looked and felt like wax (I'm not talking about hair shedding, I'm talking about the product buildup). Idk if she'd see product buildup. And since she had just been washed, this brush should have been completely clean. but since she had so much build up, I could actually see the build up in the back of her hair before I even touched it. too. It looked almost wet. When she told me that she oils her hair regularly and then she gave me a list of the products she was using, which consisted of most of my least favorite products. I wasn't very surprised. My client's a mom and she works 24 hour shifts. so her hair has been the absolute least of her concerns. so I was so excited to give her a good cleanse and let her feel how amazing it is having a clean fresh scalp I let her feel her hair after I finished cleansing and she was actually in shock at how clean and soft it was. I really like having my clients touch their hair throughout the process. I'll usually have them feel their hair after I shampoo before I condition. and then I'll also have them feel it again after conditioning, just so they know what it should feel like when they're washing their hair at home. I also feel like I haven't been giving as many product recommendations lately, so I do apologize for that. But I scrubbed her with the Malibu un Do Goo and then I did a chelating treatment and a scalp treatment. And then I also used the Malibu Curl Wellness Shampoo and the Olaplex Hydrating Shampoo. After that, I used a moisture and protein treatment together. And then I sealed it all in with the Innersense I create Curl Memory Gel budded with the Innersense I create hold gel. And I used my detangling brush to distribute the product evenly. And then I smoothed over each section with my fingers and I hover dried her hair. I decided to use the two gels together because I wanted to give her maximum definition, elongation and longevity. because I really wanted this to last her as long as possible. She was in shock at how soft and amazing her hair felt. and I loved giving her and her hair some love and self care.
