Have we had a haircut? Never.. My clients NEVER had a haircut We've never had a haircut. I just trim it occasionally. After it comes out of braids. Yes. Cause sometimes the ends are just like, really bad. But yeah, other than that, no. Is she just in back to back braids? Yeah, pretty much. Um, we'll straighten it every now and then, but it'll only last for like two or three days cause she's very active. She does a lot of sports and stuff. I'm just gonna be like, completely transparent with you that we have a lot, a lot of damage. Whether it's, you know, a majority from the braids, a majority from not getting a haircut, it doesn't really matter at this point because the damage is there. The reason it's not accepting moisture and retaining anything like that is partially because of the damage. partially just because you don't have like, a solid home care routine yet. Some of the damage goes up pretty high to the root. I'm gonna go ahead and guess you don't wanna cut all your hair off. No. we have a lot of uneven lengths already. Like, the stuff I would say definitely has to get cut off. Can you see that? Where it's like, completely see through? Once the hair strand starts to split, It's gonna keep travelling up and up and up and up and up and up. Let's say I just trimmed like this much of her hair. Since it's still split here, that's not gonna help her retain length because as it's growing out it's still gonna be breaking. Her hair is growing, it's. She's just not retaining the length. We could wash and style her and then kind of go curl by curl and try and blend in her shape and not take the length. I just wanna be completely honest with you guys cause I don't want you to be like, oh yeah, it's all healthy and then she's never seeing any progress and you're like what's going on? How do you feel about like me washing and styling you before we cut anything? And then I can kinda see where everything's gonna sit. Once we had some hydration in your hair, we can see which parts of your hair are really rejecting it and which parts of your hair are like salvageable. Do you wanna do that first and then we can kind of reassess what we're gonna cut? Okay. I think that would be good. That'll just give everybody a better visual. It's not gonna be fully 100% blended today. Are the braids the damage or just cause she's never gotten like a real haircut or Yes and yes. Combination. Yeah. Curls started to pop out once we got some water (hydration) into her hair. This is without conditioner. Okay. Just get in there. That's what it's supposed to feel like when you finish shampooing. Okay. soft right?
